Father wishes to extend his heartfelt thanks to all who participated in his February 2nd birthday celebration!
All of you made my 75th birthday one of the most memorable birthdays of my life.
Your outpouring of affection moved me like no other.
As you might have noticed, I tend to be to be a bit antediluvian.
So, it is not surprising I am accustomed to send out handwritten thank you notes. That was impossible this time since I do not have the addresses for all of you who treated me so very generously with your remarkable gift of which I was presented. Thank you, to all who participated in that extraordinary outpouring of generosity.
I want to extend my special thanks to Cantantes, under the direction of Simone, for such a rousing musical rendition at the beginning of the Convivium.
My gratitude especially to Joe and Lynn Endaya, as well as Lilly and Edith and all the others who assisted them, in assembling the food and lovely decorations.
A special gratitude to Harry Melendez for the impressive birthday cake.
Last but not least, a debt of gratitude to our beloved Elizabeth. She masterminded the entire effort with her customary consummate skill and aplomb. It is something we have all come to expect of her in every single endeavor she assumes with the Latin Mass Community of Jersey City.
Finally, please know that all of you are so very precious. In these, unusual times, a priest who adheres to the teaching of the church, and particularly her immemorial Mass, are often cast aside into the shadows. I have not been a stranger to this treatment. But loving, and faithful Catholics like you, my true family, have mitigated the sting of that bitter exclusion. With love like yours, I would happily suffer that treatment, a thousand times more.
