I’m so happy to be here giving my Christmas blessing and greeting.
Consider the fact that the Son of God could have saved the world in any way he chose, but the way he chose was to become a man, born of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and then to submit himself to his mother and his foster father for the majority of his life; indicating to us how important he knew the family was. When he goes into his public life, he makes sure he’s surrounded by his best friends, who are his Apostles, and spends all his time with them.
My message to you this Christmas is the message our Lord gives us through those two, those two homes; his home in Bethlehem and Nazareth, and his home with the Apostles. He, as the incarnate word of God, knew we need others, he needed others, to be with him and to carry out his work.
The lesson we take from that this Christmas is we need the company of other Catholics in order to accomplish the very difficult, noble, and necessary work of saving the Church and society. So be sure this Christmas you not only take the warmth of your families and to be with them, but don’t forget the warmth of the Catholic family, your Catholic friends. They need you, you need them, I need you. God bless you.
